About Jude
Growing up in the West Australian mining town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, to a grader operator dad and a stay at home, crafting mum, Jude has worked in senior roles around the globe, with some of the biggest mining, engineering and construction companies in the world. This distinctive combination gives her a perspective of “boots on ground” practicality with a strategic and commercial lens as her in-built radar.
A tenacious problem solver with a focus on finding practical solutions, no rock is ever left unturned, no cat left unherded with Jude. She has annoyingly specific attention to detail and a unique knack for quickly seeing and connecting the big picture.
Her love of animals, analogies, musical theatre and family is well-known. Her “Jude-isms” and the annual celebration known as the “Jude-i-lee” are renowned. She loves nothing better than a catch-up and a chat about all things people, family, pets and Kath & Kim!
A touch typist of 100+ words per minute, a bookkeeper using double-entry accounting, a typesetter when “cut and paste” meant using a scalpel and wax, working as a sampler in open cut mines, and in laboratories to measure precious metals: Jude didn’t know what she wanted to be when she grew up – until she found resourcing!

Author
Cutting her teeth in operational roles, followed by an apprenticeship in hands-on recruitment, Jude has taken these beginnings and molded a career where her expertise in transitioning work from team to team, country to country and structuring your organisation to support your customer outcomes is her absolute super-power.
The experiences gained in transitioning work around the world and across organisations led her to sharing her knowledge through various articles as well as the determination to write a book on the tips and tricks she has accumulated over the years.
Her handbook “Offshoring or Not-Sure-ing – A Practical Handbook. Transitioning work across teams and countries” and her other books including “How Matrix Organisations Work” on Amazon and her articles here or on the Optimal Resourcing website and various media outlets.
Speaker
Living in the remote Australian towns of Morawa, Kalgoorlie/Boulder, Cue, Mackay and Leonora, as well as time in Reno, Nevada; and spending vast amounts of the last decade working in India, the US, Singapore and Canada, Jude has a unique perspective on building and managing remote teams; and is adept at manoeuvring between the intersectionality of generations, cultures and technology, not to mention a penchant for poutine, chai and gulab jamun.
Her one-of-a-kind background and life experiences offers up multiple story opportunities of resilience, tenacity, courage and stupidity in equal measure. Mixed with a warmth and humour that gives a glimpse into being open to possibilities and embracing what life throws her way, Jude loves nothing better than engaging an audience and facilitating conversations.
